23.36m: Simulated Crit

by Arlyn on February 18, 2008

My first race is a 30-minute Criterium on a dead flat course. To train for it I decided to do two laps on my TT route around Miramar lake which should come in at around 45 minutes. I didn’t feel super fast and my first lap time was a full 25 seconds short [...]

by Arlyn on February 17, 2008

Myself, Andy, Dave, Firger and the new guy, Chris we standing there in our cleats trying to decide where to go. I think we all started with the idea that we’d do a fairly flat 50 miles and be sure to end at Pizza Port. Then someone mentioned doing the Highland Valley Loop [...]

Scripps – Idyllwild?

by Arlyn on February 14, 2008

56.01m: Palomar Mountain via Lake Wohlford

by Arlyn on February 13, 2008

We were the lucky ones today. Everyone else was at work and Mark and I got to climb Mt Palomar via Lake Wohlford. Fifty-six miles, over four hours of ride-time, almost 6,000 feet of climbing – what’s not to love?

I got worked. No question about it. The ride itself was much harder than [...]

What to do when you’re cold

by Arlyn on February 12, 2008

What do you do on those cold, cold, cold days?

by Arlyn on February 11, 2008

I love riding from my house to the beach and back. Today I set a new record for myself riding up Torrey Pines hill – 4 minutes 48 seconds. That 20 seconds faster than my previous record. Beat that.
I thought I beat my record for a 3 mile TT along the 67 [...]
