51.78m: Scripps-Soledad

by Arlyn on March 10, 2008

I wanted to call the SAG wagon and just end my misery.
I was 10 miles from home and over 40 from the start. I just wanted to do a quick ride to the coast and back, but after a near-record setting time up Torrey Pines I decided that pain is temporary and quitting is forever [...]

Mean people suck!

by Arlyn on March 10, 2008

The rednecks were out in force for our Highland Valley ride the other day. I got honked at, called a “faggot” and yelled at several times. Some idiot threw a water bottle at Wakefield, just behind me.
You know, it really scares the crap out of me when someone honks as they go by [...]

by Arlyn on March 9, 2008

At least a couple of people were slower than me today in my first race - this month’s Fiesta Island Individual Time Trial.
In an individual time trial, the riders start one at a time with a specific interval between each rider. You race the clock instead of each other which is why many call [...]

What’s with all the glass?

by Arlyn on March 7, 2008

In my entire life, I do not think I have ever purposely or on accident expelled a piece of glass into the road. I don’t think I’ve ever seen anyone else do it either?

So where the heck did all that glass in the bike lane come from? Ever notice how the glass stops exactly [...]

A day off in the mountains

by Arlyn on March 6, 2008

Took Wednesday off to let the legs recover and enjoy some other activities around Mammoth Lakes like shopping, eating breakfast out and of course, cooking Coq au Vin.

Also took some time to go sledding with Aden and we had a fantastic time carving up some serious back-condo freshie. We know it was a successful trip [...]
