I just heard from the Leadville organizers who cleared up the little mystery about whether my application was chosen and I’m IN! I’ll be racing with about 1,300 others in Leadville this August.

I was doing my weekly budget today and saw a check had cleared for $250. I didn’t remember the expense so I clicked to view an image of the cleared check…

The entrants list for the 2009 Leadville Trail 100 MTB race was just released and my name is not on it. There was a record number of applicants this year due to the publicity of Lance racing it last year.
I’m bummed. I guess I’ll have to create some other adventure for this year.

Several people around the country are reporting having received their acceptance letters for the 2009 Leadville 100 MTB Race. I haven’t gotten my “Yippee!” card yet and am hoping it’s because I’m two days away in San Diego. Apparently the letters were postmarked yesterday.

Ihave completed my training to race my first USCF road race. I’ve trained hard and consistently for the last 14 weeks and know that I’m stronger and faster on a bike than ever. The only thing left for me to do is some recovery, eat well and get plenty of rest.

The pace was controlled up to kilometer zero where the two riders began the race. Yellow Bike took an early lead. He quickly got the gap with only a little bit of wobbling and weaving. Orange Bike followed at a safe distance.
